This system allows the sales of the Grupo Clarín (Argentine’ leading News Multimedia holding) publications to be monitored by means of a solution adapted to mobile phones. We are referring to a Java application that transmits information via GPRS and that can be installed in various brands and models of telephones. As a result, the quantity of commercial copies can be controlled in every sales outlet from a central computer. This solution allows Grupo Clarín to be acquainted with the average of the sales carried out in the first morning hours, with the possibility to reprogram its distribution strategy. This solution is up to 6 times more economical than the rest of the electronic applications, since it adapts to a medium range terminal. The FLASH system is currently expanding towards numerous cities of Argentina.
